A yumejoshi (meaning "dreaming girl" ) is type of self-shipper, someone who imagines themselves with the favourite characters and this can be platonic or not. Better explanations of what this kind of self-shipper is can be found here. This is my page to yumejoshi out.
I have always been a daydreamer, inhabiting different worlds I read about, visited in games or concocted myself, and have never grown out of it. It is a comforting throughline in my life. I have written fanfiction since I could write and have written self-insert since the idea came into my mind. While I am not a fan of labels (the only label I truly call align myself with is bisexual), I like the yumejoshi community enough to where I can align myself in tandem to it and feel quite settled with this part of myself and hope my sincerity can bolster others who feel the same about things to have the same openness.

Sylvain Jose Gautier is a playable supporting character in Fire Emblem Three Houses and its spin-off prequel sequel Fire Emblem Three Hopes. Heir apparent to preeminent House Gautier and its title of Margrave Gautier as well as being student at Garrag Mach Officer Academy and member of the Blue Lions, Sylvain is a childhood friend of Dimitri Alexandre Bladdyid, crown prince to the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus.
I am sort of in love with Sylvain. It’s like he was directly made for me. When I first played Fire Emblem: Three Houses, I felt an instant connection to Sylvain. He fascinated me and still does. Not only was he physically my type (ginger) but he was also a much more layered character than IntSys usually gives their womaniser characters. The moment I could I recruited him I did so.
Introduced as the older brother figure with a notorious passion for philandry, Sylvain is much more than that. His skirt-chaser front acts not only as a foil to the apparent disinterest of all sexuality most of the cast display but also as an example of how subtly expressing distaste for societal norms could manifest.
The reality of Sylvain is that he is observant, incredibly intelligent — especially interpersonally and logically-mathematically — and thoughtful which is why he is so well respected by his friends, considered a positive force not only in the war efforts but in their social lives. However, the behaviour he displays (especially pre-time skip) reflects not those traits he is praised for but rather gifts of ascendancy which he cannot control but is praised for. These would be his Crest, noble inheritance, looks, etc. all of which are elements of society which he hates.
He dislikes the pressure placed on him from external expectations and so to control the narrative about him and gain some agency, he dictates what those expectations are, trapping him in a cage of his own making.
His womanising behaviour comes from a feeling of being unable to make connections as well as his contempt for noble women, believing the only interest they show in him is due to his Crest and not from any desire to get to know him further. So, by dating around and then disregarding when connection feels like a possibility, Sylvain harms as he feels harmed. He admits that his women-hatred is the easy answer for his issues, as it is his Crest which causes his unhappiness.
Due to his Crest, Sylvain had an unstable homelife. His Crestless older brother became disinherited and lashed out at Sylvain in jealousy, attempting to kill him multiple times. Sylvain feels like he is filling in for his brother, like he should not have to assume the role of eldest because one had something the other did not. He does extend sympathy (or rather pity) to his deceased brother as he knew the reason for the abuse he suffered, wondering what the case would be where the roles reversed.
By the end of the game, given you have recruited him, Sylvain has accepted that he can live sincerely for himself rather than as what he believes his Crest dictates, he should be. The perception of him as a layabout flirt, easily dismissed as unmotivated and unintelligent outside of matters of the bedroom, loses him credibility when he does try to distance himself this image as a young adult and does bring into question of how much of the True Self of Sylvain shows in the games.
This isn’t intended to be a deep character analysis but rather a thing to give you insight into why I’ve latched onto this character like a barnacle to a ship’s hull. So, yeah.
Sylvain is a lover of the arts like opera, literature and traditional art as well as things which encourage critical and tactile thinking, like board games.
He was born on the 5th of the Garland Moon, Imperial Year 1160 which is the equivalent to the 5th of June here.
He has a strong sense of justice when it comes to wrongs within societies, such as the racial discrimination and especially the Crest System in present in Fodlan. I wished the game would have focused more on the relationship between the Margrave of Gautier and the Sreng people because it feels brushed over.
Regarding food, Sylvain favours dishes with tomato, cheese, fish like white trout or herring, poultry, chickpeas or pastry, dishes with subtle sweetness or spice. Beverage wise, he doesn’t like coffee, favouring teas like bergamot.
